not owning a "piece of paper" (certificate) + too young affect business. that's true in real world!

i'd found my own business too. at that time, those experienced people just didn't trust a kid like me, although they think my product is great and prudence.

i think he doesn't need to regret his education. it's only different kind of life. and i doubt if a person is fully educated and have a comfortable life, will s/he brave enough to try something new? or create something that is not exists in the world?

he found post production office limited (po) when he's 22. po is a company to do video post-production business. it captured more than 50% market share. although it's based on geographical shortage, it is still a crazy figure. in the post-production industry, po is the first company to enter the mainland market (china).

how can he do that? i truly believe that it's because of his passion, management style and split of never-give-up.。

then others will look to you, not with pity but with hope, because your strength will become their hope, their strength.

you really can be that powerful.

you can ditch the victim story, you can leave the pain behind and focus on how you will react next. how you will react positively.

read. read all you can read to get your mind in a positive place.

take steps to ensure you will be in a better position next time – whatever pain you are suffering – how can you ensure it won’t show again – take little steps… and soon you will be at the top of the stair case.

don’t give up

you are worthy

you are more than worthy!

you deserve to experience how great life can be – and you owe it to the world to be that positive change for others. to inspire others – who will look to you and say – he did it, she did it, and i can do it too.

don't give up. you are worthy. you are more than worthy!

the key point is honest: saying is nothing. it's all about acting.

in daily life, would you choose to play or to be cool, or choose to get things done? choose to make things happen?

he stated that people should self-recognize. what's your strengths and weaknesses? it's rational and need to be honest to self.

you must be honest to yourself and find your automatic passion. so therefore, are you willing to sacrifice all these temptations to prevent you from practicing your arts., he said.

it seems like he gambled everything he's having. the fact is that he calculated a lot, and sign a few contracts. it is to make sure his business can survive and feed him for half year.

we need to be brave to create our own business, but we also need to prepare very well, and think rationally.

practice makes permanence

contract to "practice makes perfect", he believes there is no prefection:

you will only have a much higher probability not to mess things up, but there is no perfection.

our societies are at a critical juncture – a moment of both great challenge and opportunity.

over the last half century, women have entered every imaginable field, reached the highest levels of management, and now are leading some of the largest companies in the world.

we have discovered life-saving medical cures, traveled to space, and created transformative technologies. the women here today represent this historic achievement – and shine the light towards an even brighter future.

here in japan, 4 decades ago, 45 percent of women worked outside the home. today, 66 percent of working-age women are in the workforce – a significant improvement, and one i know will only continue to grow in great measure due to prime minister abe’s vision for japan.

at the very heart of this vision is womenomics.

womenomics recognizes the centrality of women, who represent roughly half of our global population, in achieving true economic growth. women who are empowered to work, to thrive, and to lead bring immense creativity, fresh perspective, and success to our economy – and to the world.

when women work, it creates a unique multiplier effect. women are more likely than men to hire other women, to give them access to capital, mentorship and networks. women have been shown to reinvest 90 percent of their income in their homes and communities, and tend to allocate more of their funds to food, healthcare and education-resources that benefit children and improve our societies for generations. when women work, they not only support themselves, but they create a better future for their families and their communities.

currently, an estimated 49 percent of women across the world participate in the global workforce. if women close the gap with men in all aspects of work and society, it could add trillions of dollars to our annual global gdp over the next decade.

no, this is penn. that stuff wouldn’t go over well here. maybe at drexel—but not here. i’m in trouble now.

i was back to square one—and feeling the pressure.

so now you’re probably thinking—if it was gonna be this difficult, why’d i even accept today’s invitation in the first place?

well, you know my son goes here. that’s a good reason. and i always like to check to see how my money’s being spent.

and i’m sure there’s some parents out there who can relate to what i’m talking about!

and there were other good reasons for me to show up.

sure, i got an academy award… but i never had something called “magic meatballs” after waiting in line for half an hour at a food truck.

true, i’ve talked face-to-face with president obama… but i never met a guy named “kweeder” who sings bad cover songs at smokes on a tuesday night.

yes, i’ve played a detective battling demons… but i’ve never been to a school in my life where the squirrel population has gone bananas, breaking into the dorm rooms and taking over campus. i think i’ve even seen some carrying books on the way to class!

so i had to be here. i had to come… even though i was afraid i might make a fool of myself.

good morning, dear teacher and my friends.

its a very intresting topic today.

i think my dad was a hero for me when i was a young child. wed go fishing, walks, and other fun things for a kid.

every child has a good and great father, and so do i. my dad played a very important role in my daily life`````exactly speaking, in my past 16 years.

my family was rather poor when i was in my childhood. we didnt have our own house and had to live in a shabby, small room rented from my fathers factory. the room was so small that there was little space for people to walk. i didnt have my own bed and had to sleep with my parents. this is terrible both for my parents and me.

but father made this all different!he works very hard on his own business, now we have our own 2 housese, surly,i have my own he take our family so much happiness, richer and richer.

when i was little, i did everything with my dad. you could always find me sitting on his knee or walking and doing everything with him. every night he would read me a bed time story and make the voices of each character.

i learnt a lot from my daddy. i learnt to never take things to seriously and to always smile.

years pasted, my father is over 45 now. it is time for me to look after him and i am sure i will do and we will live an even better life. and i will say,i really love you dad, cause you are the hero in my mind.

thank you so much!

after three days of self-pity, my perspective changed. i realized there were more ways to serve my fellow citizens and my city than just being in elective office.

but the lesson became crystal clear several roles into the future. and graduates, here’s the lesson:

failure’s not fatal. it’s feedback.

did you hear me? put that in your phones. failure is not fatal. it’s feedback.

i wasn’t supposed to be the mayor. had i been the mayor, i would not have been available to work as a senior officer at the coca-cola company where my maternal grandparents had worked for a combined 45 years – jobs that enabled my mother and her sister to be ‘first generation college graduates’.

nor would i perhaps have been on the radar to become a trustee here at duke, alongside my good friend and fellow dukie, nba commissioner adam silver. ya’ll know who that is? that’s a bad boy.

and had i not met adam, i may never have been a candidate for the president of the wnba, the women’s national basketball association, somebody say amen, one of the most rewarding roles that i have ever undertaken.

so many people under estimate the power and importance of a smile, that simple little facial expression characterized by an upward curving of the corners ofthe mouth.

a smile has many meanings: pleasure, friendliness, welcome, amusement, and many more; and it is part of a universal body language that doesn’t need any extrainter pretation.

plus a smile, with all its simplicity and beauty, can be a very important factor in many aspects of our lives:

you fall in love with a new country you visit because its people greet you with a welcoming smile everywhere you go; other countries you just don’t like even though they might have more history, nature, entertainment and what not because their people don’t seem so friendly or accepting.

you feel like buying from a certain store when the vendor welcomes you in with asmile, sometimes even if you wouldn’t initially have bought anything; and in other stores, even though they have exactly what you need or better, you decide to walk away because the vendor doesn’t look welcoming at all.

you want to give a waiter a good tip when he serves you with a smile, even if the food turns out not that good; on the other hand, sometimes you’ll have some of the best food ever, but you won’t feel like giving the waiter a tip, even if you do, because he was grumpy.

more and more examples from our everyday life show how much a simple smile can change everything.

forever engraved in my mind will be the smiling faces of the people of thailand, the friendly pizza delivery boy, the welcoming supermarket vendor, the nice cashier at the bank, … etc.

it is these smiles that keep me wanting to go back, and that keep us all wanting to go back; looking at it from another view, if we break it down using business sense, a smile is one of the most effective means to generate sales and develop customer loyalty.

on top of all that, a smile is a very simple and easy thing to do, so it amazes why no one bothers to do it, it not only makes the person in front of you better, but it also makes you feel better as well, and i’m not making this up,it has been psychologically proven.

personally, i’d like to see more smiling faces in this world; in the airports when i enter a new country, in companies, government agencies, restaurants, hotels, banks, everywhere; and i think it is up to governments to campaign about this, and even make it obligatory in certain important places like airports, hospitals, hotels … etc.

let’sall simply smile.
